SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST (becoming God’s child)
What do you think it takes for someone to get to heaven and be with Jesus forever? Is it luck? Good deeds? Nothing at all? Or is there something more? The Bible has the answer to this question. It's a matter of F-A-I-T-H
"F" stands for FORGIVENESS: We cannot have eternal life without God's forgiveness. Ephesians 1:7a in the Bible says, "In Him (Jesus Christ) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins."
"A" is for AVAILABLE: Forgiveness is available for all. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." But forgiveness is not automatic. "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven," says Matthew 7:21a.
"I" is for IMPOSSIBLE: It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven because of who He is and because of who we are. God is loving and just, but His judgment is against sin. James 2:13a says, "Because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful." We are sinful people. Romans 3:23 tells us, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
"T" is for TURN: To turn means to repent. We can repent -- or turn --from our sin and from ourselves. "But unless you repent, you too will all perish," Luke 13:3b says. We can also turn to Someone. Trust Christ alone. Romans10:9 tells us how: "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
"H" is for HEAVEN: Heaven is eternal life. Here, that means life "to the full:" "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10b). In the hereafter, it means the promise of heaven: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am" (John 14:3). Take the step of faith described by another meaning of FAITH:

To Receive Christ as your Personal Savior, you can pray:
"Lord Jesus, thank You that You love me and showed Your love by dying on the cross. I know I am a sinner and have displeased You in many ways. I believe You died for my sin, and only through faith in Your shed blood of the cross can I be forgiven of my sins. And only through faith in your resurrection can I have eternal life in You. I want to turn from my sin and ask You to come into my heart and life as my Savior and Lord. From this day on, I will follow You by living a life that pleases You through the Power of Your Holy Spirit. Now, fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen."

ASSURANCE OF SALVATION (Knowing You’re Saved)
God repeatedly gives us the assurance of our salvation in His word the Bible: In 2 Corinthians 5:8 God says to the believer, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." (2 Corinthians 5:8)
On the other hand Jesus told of the rich man who died unsaved "And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments" (Luke 16:23). The Bible is perfectly clear that the true believer has eternity security, and just as clear as to the condemnation of those who reject God. It is misled men and churches who have falsely confused the matter.
God wants you to know the truth. He wants those who are unsaved to know they are lost that they will believe and receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life. He also wants those who are saved to know they are and have complete assurance of their salvation.
How do I know that I am saved?
Answer: Note that in each of these passages the person who believes in Christ is said to receive "everlasting" or "eternal life." Note what God tells us through the following passage: 1 John 5:13, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. "
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:8-10)
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God
through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of
the Son of God." (1 John 5:13)
A. In the Old Testament there are many examples of those who professed they knew they were saved.
1. Job 19:25-27 Job said "I know..."
2. Psalm 23:4-6 David said, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley,I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare
a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of
my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
B. Let's look at what Christ Himself said on the matter.
Christ in John 17:3, described eternal life, “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”
John 10:27-29. Jesus said, believers are given eternal life and no one can pluck them out of My hand. It is God Himself that keeps the believers saved! (see also Rom. 8:31-39).
Romans 5:1-2, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace..rejoice in hope of glory of God."
This is a key verse in the matter! There can only be peace for the believer who knows he has eternal life and is forgiven. There is no peace apart from one's assurance of his salvation. Greek word "peace" ei pece means "to anticipate with pleasure, or confidence".
1 Peter 1:5 tells us it is God who keeps us saved, "Who are kept by the power of God, by faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." One is not said to be kept by his works in which we all fail, but by the power of God.
1 John 5:13 state the fact that believers have eternal life, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God".
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Roman 5:8.
You see while I was a sinner God loved me and Christ died for my sin. That is so very clear. Further, after I believed and received Jesus Christ as my Savior, I still am not worthy of His Grace and Love! I never will be. Yet, He still loves me and still forgives the same way He did when I was first saved (1 John 1:9). I can no more win God's favor by my good works now as I could before I was saved! It is His love and grace that keeps me saved. I will fail Him, yet He will never every fail me. Finally, if you really love Jesus, continue to walk with Him. He will never leave you, nor forsake you. He is faithful to hold you, keep you, and forgive you. Nothing is better than Jesus!!
